Vancouver, Canada-based company, Nevada Geothermal Power Inc.(TSX.V: NGP) continues to grow its potential geothermal energy capacity.
The company boasts geothermal energy projects in Nevada and Oregon which they claim have a production potential of up to 200 MW.  Of the five projects under development, four are located on NGP properties in Nevada and one project is located in Oregon.
With the announcement that it has come to an agreement with Iceland America Energy, Inc. to purchase IAE’s geothermal assets in the Imperial Valley, Nevada Geothermal Power has extended its reach into Southern California.
NGP agreed to pay US$680,000 in cash and 6,074,069 shares to aquire 100% ownership of IAE’s geothermal projects in New Truckhaven, East Brawley and South Brawley, California.  In Truckhaven, NGP plans to begin work on developing a 30-50 MW geothermal power plant.
